PCM Panels

Manufactured by PCM Product Ltd, Salt hydrate PCM is used with high thermal conductivity for better passive cooling performance. The melt point of the PCM panel is ranging from 23-28 depending on the application condition

Low ambient temperatures coupled with free cooling offer a significant reduction of energy consumption relating to the cooling operation, which is in the region of 16-46% depending on the type of passive cooling unit and location. A conventional design must cater for the peak ambient conditions which occur only a few days or weeks of the year. Typical UK annual average daily wet and dry bulb temperatures as well as standard design levels are shown below:

Sap Panels

In terms of built environment applications, SAPs have been recognized as great desiccant options with high sorption capacity, excellent durability, lightweight and low-cost. Furthermore, SAPs effectively dehumidify air within a large range of temperature between 0°C and 60°C.

Vermiculite is a hydrous phyllosilicate mineral. The new composite desiccant material has been synthesized by using vermiculite and different liquid desiccants, including calcium chloride (CaCl2), magnesium sulphate (MgSO4), lithium chloride (LiCl) and potassium formate (HCOOK).

Based on the testing data, the dehumidification performance of the composite desiccant of Vermiculite-LiCl is the best, followed by Vermiculite-MgSO4CaCl2 and Vermiculite-CaCl2.
